We love welcoming guests to Chalk Meadow, our small and relaxed camping spot in the heart of Dorset. With just 25 tent-only grass pitches, there’s plenty of space to spread out, slow down and enjoy the open meadow setting.

From your pitch, you can take in wide countryside views, listen to birdsong and keep an eye out for local wildlife passing by. We’re perfectly placed for exploring too, with Dorchester only ten minutes away, and the famous Jurassic Coast is around a 25-minute drive, making it easy to mix peaceful days onsite with adventures nearby.

ABOUT THE SITE

We’re lucky to be surrounded by some of Dorset’s most beautiful countryside, making our little site a great choice for families who want a calm seaside break away from the busy crowds. From your pitch, you can soak up wide-open views and enjoy the peaceful setting, or head down to Bowleaze Cove, which is only ten minutes away for a beach day.

The non electric grass tent and campervan pitches sit in a large grassy field beside a meadow, where wildlife can often be spotted. There’s plenty of space for children to run, play and burn off energy while you relax. Although the site is quiet and laid-back, it’s perfectly placed for days out along the South Coast. Durdle Door, the Jurassic Coast and Dorchester can all be reached in around 25 minutes.

Dogs are welcome, with up to three permitted per pitch.

We are open for weekends in May, 22nd May to 1st June, weekends in June and July and then from 17th July to 7th September.

FACILITIES

We provide simple shared facilities, with separate toilets and showers for men and women, all accessed via a small set of steps. There’s also a covered washing-up area outside.

If you fancy heading out, the village shop in Broadmayne is about a 15-minute walk away, home to the Black Dog Pub. For a food shop, a Tesco Superstore is just a 10 minute drive from the site.
